Friendly Fires and Hot Chip keep party going at Wonder-ful Bestival

Stevie Wonder on stage at Bestival
Setting the mood ... Stevie Wonder

ROB DA BANK confirmed his festival credentials with this year's Bestival line-up.

The DJ and producer pulled in the best acts from all music genres at the weekend.
THE XX, ORBITAL, HOT CHIP, FRIENDLY FIRES, SPIRITUALIZED, SISTER SLEDGE, FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE and NEW ORDER were all worthy of the headline slot.
But when you manage to get STEVIE WONDER over to the Isle Of Wight, the most coveted spot obviously goes to him.
The American legend played his vast collection of hits when he performed on Sunday night.
Isn't She Lovely, I Just Called To Say I Love You, Superstition, Mon Cherie Amor all got the crowd singing along.
Unlike other festivals, Bestival is far from over once the headliner is finished.
It is a carefully considered line-up with dance acts following big bands.

For instance, putting Friendly Fires and Orbital on after Stevie was a smart move.
LITTLE DRAGON and BAT FOR LASHES both played stunning sets on Sunday afternoon.
DJANGO DJANGO, FIRST AID KIT, MAJOR LAZER, THE HORRORS, ALABAMA SHAKES, JESSIE WARE and JAMIE XX all wowed with their sets across the weekend too.
It was a bit of a surprise to see MR MOTIVATOR on the bill for the main stage.
But TONY dusted off his lively unitard and pulled thousands of punters out of their tents to work out with him early Saturday morning.
He's still got it but it was one thrust to far me. Especially with a hangover.
